  • Very excited for the self-titled release of Maximum Balloon‘this week. Dave Sitek from TV On The Radio has assembled a small army of guest vocalists for this project.
  • Anyone got intel on the new release from Magic Kids? I’m interested. Very interested.
  • The Suzan is an all-girl band from Japan. Do they sound like the 5-6-7-8s? Sure, but maybe that’s too easy a comparison.
  • Small Black will release their debut album New Chain on Jagjaguwar Records on 26 Oct 2010.
  • The Extra Lens is John Darnelle from The Mountain Goats and Franklin Bruno. Formerly known as The Extra Glens. New album on Merge coming in 2010.
  • The Black Angels and Black Mountain are going on tour together, and both albums will be releasing new albums on 14 Sept 2010. The closest they’ll get to Madison is a Thursday, 28 October show at The Metro in Chicago, doors 8pm, show 9pm. Tickets $19.

  • The Walkmen will play at The Barrymore Theatre in Madison, WI on Thu 14 Oct 2010 at 8pm. Japandroids and Miniature Tigers will open. Tickets $17 adv / $19 dos.
